Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Student Engagement Team to create and facilitate the Orientation Leader training program
  • Lead a group of 15-18 Connect Group Leaders and Resident Assistants
  • Serve as a resource regarding all campus services and activities for new students and their families
  • Address concerns and answer questions of new students
  • Orientation Captains will be the point of contact for Orientation Leaders
  • Knowledgeable about various aspects of Regent University
  • Serve as a positive role model for new students and their families
  • Encourage new students to fully participate in orientation activities
  • Maintain enthusiasm and positivity throughout orientation
  • OCs are considered Regent Representatives by assuming a student leadership role at Regent University

Requirements:

  • Must have served as a Welcome Week leader for (1) year
  • Must relate well with students, parents, faculty, and administrators
  • Must be mature, responsible, and display a willingness to assist students in transitioning to college
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at Regent University in good academic, financial, and conduct standing
  • Must present a professional demeanor that favorably represents the institution and department
  • Required to wear university-approved attire
  • Must demonstrate a desire to learn about the university, its regulations, people, programs, and community
  • Must be involved in (2) student life or academic organizations/ programs
  • Most importantly, must want to have fun!
