Responsibilities:

  •  Build and alter costumes for a 4-show season with cast sizes ranging from 5 to 35
  •  Assist costume designer with sourcing and costume/ wardrobe paperwork
  •  Help with actor fittings by performing pinning and note taking
  •  Wardrobe duties as necessary, including ironing, steaming, laundry, and repairing costumes during the run of each production
  •  Run shows as wardrobe supervisor when necessary
  •  Maintain and organize the costume stock as needed
  •  Facilitate the renting and checking in of university costumes as needed
  •  Assist with dress rehearsal and show strike
  •  Perform wig/hair and craft duties as assigned
  •  Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  •  Tool and equipment maintenance as necessary

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work within a team
  • Knowledge of garment patterning, cutting, and sewing techniques· Some experience with wig/hair styling, fabric dying, millinery, and other crafting techniques
  • Basic knowledge of safety equipment/tools/machines and their uses
  • Physical stamina to stand extended periods, push loaded clothing racks, and lift up to 25 pounds
