The Photographer position will support the University brand, enrollment, and fundraising goals by producing effective, high-quality, and commercial-level photography to help tell rich, motivational stories. This position will expand photo production capabilities in-house, and serve as the reliable means for top-quality assets where ad/media/print placements are required for forecasted growth. This position will also serve to further implement passionate, innovative creativity to existing workflows for creating target specific new media.

Essential duties:

  • Shoot, produce, and edit photography for marketing, PR, social media, promotion, prospective student enrollment and fundraising purposes
  • Work proactively with Creative Director and Producer to create strategic direction for each staged shoot
  • Assist with video needs as required by producer and video team
  • Interact with key stakeholders to understand specifications, content and delivery expectations
  • Collaborate on story, locations, casting, and post-production
  • Consistently deliver work on time and at the highest standard for all clients
  • Ensure that projects are clearly documented
  • Adapt to University standard for photography workflow and archiving
  • Properly manage and maintain full inventory of professional photo equipment

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in photography, film, or related discipline; equivalent work experience may be substituted in place of a degree
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional photography experience
  • A current portfolio highlighting quality of work is required

Candidates must have:

  • An expert understanding of photo production, processing, and workflow
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is required; video production software such as Adobe Premier Pro desired
  • Good project management skills
  • Organizational skills, professionalism, and a creative team player mentality
