Student Worker
Responsibilities:
- Support prospective military-affiliated and veteran students by responding to general inquiries related to admissions processes and education benefits, including monitoring and responding to email traffic, answering phone calls, taking messages, and assisting with appointment scheduling.
- Provide general information to current military-affiliated and veteran students regarding veteran-related benefits, services, and campus resources.
- Assist in the preparation and use of presentations, documents, spreadsheets, and other office software to support MRC programs, workshops, and information sessions.
- Support the planning and coordination of on-campus or virtual information sessions related to veteran education benefits, employment resources, and student success initiatives.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to event registration, attendance tracking, communications, and follow-up.
- Participate as an active member of the university’s Student Veteran Association (SVA) to help promote awareness of veteran benefits, services, and student engagement opportunities.
- Assist with outreach and promotion efforts, including tabling events, campus activities, and community engagement with external partners.
- Support Military Resource Center events by assisting with promotion, basic media creation, logistics, and event setup or breakdown.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and daily operations of the Military Resource Center.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated interest in supporting military-affiliated and veteran students.
- Familiarity with military and veteran education benefits and programs, or willingness to learn.
- Basic proficiency with email, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to handle sensitive student information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working with military-affiliated or veteran populations.
- Knowledge of veteran care and service programs offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Department of Labor, or related organizations.
- Experience participating in or supporting student organizations or campus events.
