Graduate Assistant - Campus Ministries

Responsibilities:

  • The GA will assist the Chapel and Administrative Coordinator with planning and coordinating Chapel and UnChapel services through hospitality coordination, assisting with coordinating student volunteer teams, and service logistics. 
  • The GA must attend either Chapel or UnChapel each week, and attend both on an equal and alternating basis throughout their time as a GA (attending both services weekly is optional, but will be required once the transition into a full-time role draws closer)
  • Shadow and assist the Chapel & Admin Coordinator in supervising department interns and student volunteer teams (this will require attendance at weekly intern meetings)  
  • Assist with supply ordering and coordination
  • Assist with coordinating other departmental training meetings (Leadership Labs, etc.) and special Campus Ministries events
  • Shadow the Chapel and Admin coordinator as they complete administrative tasks
  • Attend meetings with other Regent partners or external partners as assigned with the Chapel and Admin Coordinator for shadowing purposes
  • Attend supervisory checkpoint meetings with the Chapel and Admin Coordinator and the Director of Campus Ministries as scheduled
  • Engage in public speaking/ministry opportunities as offered by the Director of Campus Ministries and the Chapel and Admin Coordinator
  • Assist in providing oversight for Campus Ministries marketing 
  • Shadow the Chapel and Admin coordinator in connecting with ministry partners (UnChapel sponsors, church partners, CM+ partners, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Must be a current Regent graduate student
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must be comfortable in leadership roles
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well in a team, even in high-pressure situations
  • Must have a flexible, team-oriented, and servant-hearted spirit and be willing to learn, grow, and serve with others in the Campus Ministries team
  • Must be capable of leading large student teams and be passionate about student discipleship
  • Must be teachable, eager to learn, and highly flexible and adaptable
  • Must be available and willing to transition into a full-time role with the University within the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Must be passionate about college ministry and student discipleship (a demonstrated interest and experience with mentorship is a plus)
  • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have interest and demonstrated skill in administrative work and an interest in event planning
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PPT, etc.) or open to training
  • Experience working with budget planning and tracking is a plus; comfort and experience working with monetary calculations is required 
  • A high degree of emotional and spiritual maturity when dealing with confidential matters
  • Must possess organizational skills and be able to manage multiple tasks and details
  • Must be resourceful and take initiative in problem-solving
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to work evenings (Thursday evenings weekly, plus occasional other evenings/weekends for events throughout the year)
  • Must be comfortable in high-paced, high productivity-demand work environments
  • Must have creative interest and skill, with some level of comfort or experience working with digital marketing platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Experience with church event management software (Planning Center and ProPresenter) is a plus
