The Assistant Coach of Women’s Basketball reports to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics. Assists in overseeing all aspects of operating a successful college level intercollegiate athletic program. All responsibilities will be under the leadership of the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Essential duties:

  • Assist in recruiting students who are mission-fit, academically solid and athletically skilled.
  • Adhere to, support and follow the academic standards and requirements of the University regarding the recruiting and eligibility of prospective and current student-athletes.
  • Provide student-athletes appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athletes spiritual development and completion of stated program of study.
  • Report any known or suspected violations of the NCCAA and/or university rules by head coach, assistant coaches, student-athletes, staff, etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics. 
  • Assist in organizing and supervising all practices, games and other workout sessions for the team.
  • Assist the head coach in the instruction and coaching of student-athletes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One or more years of successful high school, college or private coaching is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the team's competitive strengths and vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the team's performance.
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.

Candidates must have:

  • A strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups and in a public setting.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
  • Commitment to integrating scripture in coaching and interactions with student-athletes
  • Creativity, flexibility, humility, maturity and patience
