The Assistant Women's Softball Pitching Coach will assist the Head Softball Coach with games, practices, and field prep requirements, as well as focusing on pitchers training and strategy. All responsibilities will be under the leadership of the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics. This is a part-time position.

Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA 

Salary: $9,030 annually

Essential duties:

• Assisting in Practice Planning
• Running Drills and Specific Pitching Positions
• Shared Field Work After Practice
• Pitching Specific Coaching for Fall Play Date
• Recruiting - The ability to work camps and recruiting events during fall recruiting. The recruitment budget will cover food and rental cars for events located outside of 60 miles for all events made mandatory by the Head Coach.

Time Commitment:

• 24 Practice/Individual/Weights Days in the Fall plus Play Day
• Practices only Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays (3-4 hour range each day)

Qualifications:

• Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
• One or more years of successful high school, college, or private coaching experience is preferred

Candidates must have:

• Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule
• Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts
• Proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
• Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the team’s competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
• Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the team’s performance
• Thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate competition and adhere to rules and standards established by NCAA
