Regent University’s College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Old Testament to teach in the Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry department. This will be a residential position located on the Virginia Beach, Virginia, campus.

The successful applicant will possess a PhD in Old Testament, Bible Exposition, or an equivalent field from a regionally accredited institution. The ideal candidate will specialize in the intertextuality of the Old Testament books, assigning more contextual weight to the greater narrative that binds the thirty-nine books in anticipation of Jesus Christ and the New Testament. The candidate will also possess skill in teaching at the undergraduate level. Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew I and II is also preferred. Candidates will primarily teach 15-week, on-campus courses. However, an ability to teach 8-week online courses via Canvas is expected.

Expectations include 1) dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) an ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 3) experience with online instructional technology (i.e., Canvas); 4) facility in oral and written communication; 5) demonstration of academic publishing success (and an agenda for further research and writing); 6) regular participation and engagement in academic societies; 7) eagerness to engage in inter-faculty collegiality in the College of Arts and Sciences; and 8) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
