Regent University's School of Communication and the Arts is seeking to fill a full-time, professional-track Artist in Residence with a focus on Technical Theatre. This position will be located at Regent University's Virginia Beach, VA campus.

Art, beauty, and the search for the truth in light of the Gospel are at the heart of Regent University. This professional-track lecturer will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in technical theatre, participate in administration and coordination with programs across the School and in the community, lead scenic design for the Regent University Center for Performing Arts theatrical season, and lead academic and co-curricular initiatives including development of new curriculum as the program grows into a next generation incubator for real-world training and cutting-edge performing arts.

The position is expected to start July 1, 2027, but will consider earlier start dates and will screen continually until filled.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial scholar holding an appropriate terminal degree. The ideal candidate will have a significant professional portfolio, evidence of successful teaching, and a clear and compelling Christian commitment.

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach at all levels; 4) familiarity with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, set in good faith based on the budgeted amount available for the position. Appointments typically begin between $70,000 and $75,000. Placement in the upper portion of the range reflects demonstrated professional production experience, a substantial record of professional production credits adjudicated in juried forums, demonstrated ability to teach and serve broadly across the curriculum, and demonstrated curriculum development experience.
