The Administrative Coordinator advances student success by ensuring the effective operation of administrative systems and communication channels that support Student Success and Career Services within the Center for Student Happiness. With a strong focus on organization, accuracy, and service, this role manages key platforms such as Handshake, coordinates coaching inquiries and scheduling, and supports the execution of programs, workshops, and events. The Administrative Coordinator also leads marketing coordination efforts, maintains shared communications, and generates reports on student engagement and outcomes

Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA 

Essential duties:

  • Manage administrative systems supporting coaching inquiries, including scheduling tools, shared inboxes, and alert platforms.
  • Provide operational support for student success and career services programs, events, presentations, and resources.
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of the Handshake platform, ensuring data accuracy, responsiveness, and effective utilization.
  • Generate and maintain reports on key metrics (e.g., participation, employer engagement, event attendance, outcomes) to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters and social media, to promote programs and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, human resources, or a related field
  • Previous experience in career or client services, client relations, or a related role is preferred

Candidates must have:

  • Strong affinity for technology
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn technologies such as Handshake, CRM software, CMS interface, and MS Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and employers
