The VA Certifying Official (VCO) coordinates and provides all military-affiliated benefits processing and related customer service in the Financial Aid Office. The VCO serves as a liaison between the VA, DOD, students, and other military third-party vendors and government agencies. This position will field a high volume of internal contacts within a call center environment. The VCO will also ensure timely and compliant processing of student files.

Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Salary: $41,000- 46,000 annually

Essential duties:

  • Develop a deep understanding of issues and needs confronting military-affiliated students and assist in the development of effective ways to address those issues and needs.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of military-affiliated benefits
  • Provides extraordinary customer service 
  • Coordinates and participates in Regent and military association events.
  • Assists, advises and counsels prospective and current students on the application process and use of their benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Candidates must have:

  • Proven Track records as a customer service champion
  • Ability to plan and adapt to change
  • Experience in process management and problem-solving
  • Superior experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Prior military experience or affiliation highly preferred
