Student Worker (NPP Training Coordinator)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and execution of PT sessions for midshipmen candidates
  • Track and report on the progress of individual midshipmen candidates, providing targeted interventions for those needing additional support
  • Maintain regular communication with the NPP Program Director and Military Resource Center staff about candidate progress and any necessary adjustments to training plans
  • Ensure all activities are conducted within Navy safety and physical training guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Must meet Navy height and weight standards
  • Must be in good standing with the Hampton Roads NROTC Unit
  • Must have achieved an Excellent Low or better on the most recent Navy Physical Readiness Test (PRT)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to complete certification training prior to start of academic year)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate midshipmen candidates
  • Ability to plan and execute fitness programs tailored to the needs of NPP midshipmen
  • Knowledge of Navy physical training protocols and safety guidelines
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage training schedules and participant records
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other university staff and operate independently when required
  • Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality
