Junior Network Operations Center Technician Student Worker (Federal Work Study Eligible Regent University students Only)

Essential functions:

  • Monitor network performance and availability using various monitoring tools
  • Monitor Help Desk tickets related to networking systems and services
  • Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system for future reference
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of network incidents and issues
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to escalate complex issues
  • Participate in routine maintenance and system updates as required
  • Maintain accurate records of network configurations and changes

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with VMware, and backup operations
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of network monitoring and backup tools and methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of network configuration and management
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to assist with projects outside of normal business hours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
